“They influence our decisions without us knowing it. They numb our senses without us feeling it. They control our lives without us realizing it. They live. John Carpenter directs this heart-pounding thriller. Aliens are systematically gaining control of the earth by masquerading as humans and lulling the public into submission. Humanity’s last chance lies with a lone drifter who stumbles upon a harrowing discovery – a unique pair of sunglasses that reveal the terrifying and deadly truth.”

Very interesting movie.  You have to make your own decisions regarding the movie, but definitely it will give you something to think about.

Is the current war humans vs psychopaths?  Like Catherine Austin-Fitts says, “Do we want a ‘human’ or ‘inhuman’ future?”

Wonder how crypto-currencies fit into the paradigm?

Alan Greenspan – Gold is Safe Store of Value

In the absence of the gold standard, there is no way to protect savings from confiscation through inflation. There is no safe store of value.

If there were, the government would have to make its holding illegal, as was done in the case of gold.

If everyone decided, for example, to convert all his bank deposits to silver or copper or any other good, and thereafter declined to accept checks as payment for goods, bank deposits would lose their purchasing power and government-created bank credit would be worthless as a claim on goods.

The financial policy of the welfare state requires that there be no way for the owners of wealth to protect themselves. […] This is the shabby secret of the welfare statists’ tirades against gold.

Deficit spending is simply a scheme for the confiscation of wealth.

Gold stands in the way of this insidious process. It stands as a protector of property rights. If one grasps this, one has no difficulty in understanding the statists’ antagonism toward the gold standard.

– Alan Greenspan, former Chairman of the Federal Reserve (1966)

NOTE: U.S. Federal Reserve Chairman Alan Greenspan received an honorary knighthood from Britain’s Queen Elizabeth II.  Greenspan cannot call himself “Sir” since he is not a UK citizen, however, he will be able to add the letters KBE — which stand for Knight Commander of the British Empire — after his name.

It is an honor shared by former U.S. President Ronald Reagan, former U.S. President George Bush, former New York Mayor Rudy Giuliani, entertainer Bob Hope and U.S. Gen. Norman Schwarzkopf.

Woke Up to Snow and No Water

We have a heated water hose, but over the summer and fall the heater wire and insulation had moved far enough away from the water hose to have the water freeze overnight in the water hose.

The last photo shows foam insulation on upper left, bare white water hose in the middle, faucet on the right and heater wire in the lower middle of the photo. The white water hose in the middle should be enclosed with the heater wire and foam insulation around the white water hose.

I will have re-insulate and re-tape the water hose later today. While it snows here in Vancouver, WA, it’s unusual – generally more cold rain than snow.

Our End-of-Year Rescue

Yesterday, I was outside talking with our neighbor and he suddenly said, “Careful, don’t step on the fish!”

I looked down and there was a small, orange fish flopping on the driveway.  He said he threw it out because it kept fighting with his other tropical fish.

I knew it was dying, so I picked it up, ran inside and put it in some water, but the water was too cold; so I had to mix some hot and cold water in a 3-cup glass coffee carafe and plopped the fish into it.  It lived, but had to adjust to a different PH in the water, different water temperature and a much smaller living space with no other fish swimming nearby.  It took awhile for the fish to adapt.

Megan calls it “Dreary”, because it doesn’t do much except swim around in the coffee carafe. Megan also says the fish is ‘vain’ because it keeps looking at its reflection in the stainless steel water purifier next the the glass carafe.

I wondered if it was going to make it into the New Year.  It did.  Now what do we do with it?  Do you want a pet fish?

Fixed Leak from Roof Antenna in Award RV

TV/FM radio roof antenna

About eight years ago, I called the USA distributor of our Award RV TV/FM radio roof antenna for a replacement part. I was told by the distributor that China would consider re-manufacturing the antenna only for orders of 10,000 units. Since there was no way that the distributor could sell so many antennas, I was faced with the fact that I could not obtain any replacement parts nor a new antenna. There’s more »»»
